Going for wallpaper? Here’s how to get it right
Wallpaper has made a huge comeback in the past few years, and it’s no surprise with the extensive wealth of options out there. It doesn’t have to be overly dramatic if that’s not your vibe, there are some lovely plain and minimalist wallcoverings out there, as well as the boldest of patterns and shades. Here’s some advice on choosing one which will finish off the room to perfection.
You might find a wallpaper which you fall in love with, and this can be a great starting point for your room’s scheme. Try to match the colours in the wallpaper with the tones on the rest of the walls, furniture and accessories.
Wallpapered ceilings are great fun (and very in at the moment) - they give real impact and feel lovely and unusual. Make sure you choose a pattern that doesn’t look odd when you’re looking up at it though! I also love a “full wrap” of wallpaper for one room in the house. Wallpaper on all four walls makes an ordinary room feel truly remarkable.
Never think that a bold patterned wallpaper is too much in a small space. It can feel really fun and exciting in a little downstairs toilet. If you think it’s going to be too much though, you can tone it down by painting the lower half of the walls in a complementary colour and wallpapering the top half.
I absolutely love the luxury wallcovering range from Arte. They offer a huge range of exquisite patterns to suit all taste and the quality is exceptional. The fabric coverings are extra special and they add some interesting texture and warmth to a space,
